A bomb threat that turned out to be a hoax was the cause of an evacuation at Magnolia High School on Tuesday afternoon. The call was made to the 911 center around 11:37 a.m. Students were evacuated to a nearby church within minutes after the call. A W.Va. State Police bomb dog checked out the area and found no explosive devices. Also, state and local police conducted a visual check that resulted in nothing. After the school was found to be safe, the students were released back to class. “I have zero tolerance for this. I have talked to the prosecuting attorney and we will work together to prosecute whoever is responsible for this.” Wetzel County Sheriff James Hoskins said. “This school is an educational facility, and they need to educate instead of deal with a hoax like this.” Hoskins went on to say that his main concern is the safety of the students and the staff and law enforcement will continue to follow the school’s policy concerning the safety of the students and staff.
